ACEP hosted a virtual webinar on on March 4 and 5.
The webinar was organized and led by ACEP’s John Haverlack and Leasi Vanessa Lee Raymond and featured presenters from subject matter experts, industry, government and academia.

Haverlack noted that the webinar helped participants recognize the differences between cybersecurity strategies for IT (information technology) and OT (operational technology) as well as distinguish distinctions between the cybersecurity needs of centralized power grids and microgrids.
ACEP facilitated a diverse set of presentations on current and relevant topics concerned with energy security and resilience.
“We hope this is the first of many conversations on the topic of energy cybersecurity and that it will lead to practical action for energy security in Alaska,” Haverlack said.
This event was part of the pre-conference series leading up to the , which will take place in Anchorage June 3–5.
The next pre-conference workshop, “Building Alaska’s future: Insights from Iceland,” will be on April 8–9. .
