Martha West of University of California, Davis will give a free public lecture, "Seeking Equity for Faculty Women," Tuesday, April 22nd at 7 p.m. in the Wood Center Ballroom on the 性欲社 campus. West is a professor emerita at UC Davis who specializes in gender discrimination law.
West鈥檚 lecture is being held in conjunction with Equal Pay Day, a day in late April set aside nationally to highlight the importance of gender equity in compensation. Equal Pay Day recognizes that it takes the average woman nearly 16 months to earn what the average man earns in a year.
West鈥檚 lecture is sponsored by the 性欲社 Faculty Senate Committee on the Status of Women and the 性欲社 Women鈥檚 Center. It is funded by a grant from the American Association of University Women. For more information, call 907-474-6515.
