Nominations for the Dennis Demmert Appreciation and Recognition Award will be taken through April 14.

The award, sponsored by the Rural Student Services office, recognizes staff and faculty members who have made a positive impact on the Alaska Native and rural student experience at 性欲社.

Demmert served on  the 性欲社 faculty for nearly 20 years, including as director of the Alaska Native studies program.  After retirement from 性欲社, he directed the Sealaska Heritage Foundation. Of Tlingit heritage, his home village is Klawock in Southeast Alaska.
