Ocean initiative director to discuss Alaska's 'blue economy' Feb. 1

The Alaska Ocean Cluster Initiative's director will discuss opportunities in Alaska's ocean-related economy from 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the BP Design Theater in the Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility at 性欲社.

Joel Cladouhos, AOCI's Anchorage-based director, will describe how academic researchers are collaborating with industry to develop more sustainable, value-added elements in Alaska鈥檚 "blue economy."

The , recently launched by the Bering Sea Fishermen's Association, strives to unite industry, academia, nonprofits and government agencies to grow ocean-related industries.

This event is hosted by the 性欲社 Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization and its new center, the Alaska Center for Innovation, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship.
