Acting leadership appointments for CRCD, Kuskokwim Campus

Vice Chancellor Evon Peter appointed Kevin Illingworth as acting dean for the College of Rural and Community Development, and Linda Curda as acting director for the Kuskokwim Campus.

Illingworth and Curda will serve while Mary Pete, who filled both roles, is on leave. The appointments were effective Oct. 18.

“During their time at ������, Kevin and Linda have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to helping our students’ succeed,” said Peter, vice chancellor for rural, community and Native education. “Their student-centered leadership and institutional knowledge will ensure that CRCD and KUC campus programs, classes, planning and activities continue to move forward.”

Illingworth, a professor of tribal management, earned his law degree in 2000 from the University of Idaho. He began his career with the College of Rural and Community Development's Interior Alaska Campus in May 2002. He earned tenure with ������ in 2013. Before joining ������, he assisted Mentasta Traditional Council and Cheesh’ Na Tribal Council develop tribal laws and operate tribal justice systems.



Curda has been with Kuskokwim Campus since 1980, when she was hired as an instructor for the community health aide/practitioner training program. Now she is an associate professor of community health and serves as the community health aide practitioner program academic liaison. Curda earned her master’s degree in public health in 1987.
