Alaskans to share tales at live storytelling event

ΠΤΣϋΙη journalism department will host a live storytelling event, β€œDark Winter Nights: True Stories from Alaska,” Saturday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m. in the Pioneer Park civic center theater. Admission is free.

The event will feature seven people sharing their true stories about life in Alaska. Storytellers include Heather Taggard, Ray Wiltgren, Gary β€œCloudDancer” Bakewell, Bill Schnabel, Brent Sass, Alyssa Enriquez and Mike O'Brien.

Dark Winter Nights is a collaborative project between KUAC and the ΠΤΣϋΙη journalism department. In addition to live events, the associated radio program airs every third Saturday on KUAC-FM at 7 p.m. The next radio broadcast is Saturday, Nov. 15. Podcasts are also available on iTunes or from .

This is the second Dark Winter Nights live event. The first event, from April of 2014, will be broadcast on KUAC-TV at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13.
