Auditions for "Winter Shorts"

Theatre 性欲社 is pleased to announce for the Winter Shorts production, composed of two student-directed one-act plays. Paul R铆os is directing
Medusa's Tale by Carol Lashof, and Carl Sage is directing The Veldt by Ray Bradbury.Theatre 性欲社鈥檚 鈥淕reen Room鈥 (Room 101), Fine Arts Complex, 性欲社 Campus,
Saturday, Sept. 1, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. will be for callbacks,
if necessary.
Mr. R铆os is seeking five actors:
PERSEUS (Male): A hero. Courageous, charismatic, na茂ve. Youthful, athletic. Early
20s.
MEDUSA (Female): A gorgon. Willful, independent, liberal. Long hair, darker-skinned.
Mid-20s.
POSEIDON (Male): A god. Powerful, authoritative, cocky. Intimidating. Late 20s to
mid-30s.
ATHENA (Female): A goddess. Vain, righteous, hypocritical. Tall, beautiful. Mid-to-late
20s.
GIRL (Female): A young lady. Shy, proper, conservative. Pretty, innocent. Late teens.
Mr. Sage is seeking five actors to fill six roles:
GEORGE (Male): Mid-30s. Confident and positive. Wants nothing but the best for his
family but is somewhat blind to their emotions and true needs.
LYDIA (Female): George鈥檚 wife. Early 30s. Sensitive and aware that something is amiss
within the household.
PETER (Male): George and Lydia鈥檚 son. Approximately twelve. Hungry for his father鈥檚
time and attention. Somewhat sullen.
WENDY (Female): George and Lydia鈥檚 daughter. Approximately thirteen. Quiet and restrained.
Tends to follow Peter鈥檚 lead.
DAVID MACLEAN (Male): Psychologist. Mid-30s. Longtime friend of George. Insightful
and direct.
THE ELECTRICIAN (Male): Technically oriented and friendly. Early-to-mid 20s. is intended that this role will be played by the same actor who performs the role
of David Maclean.
Auditions Saturday, January 21st at 1:00pm in Room 101 (the 鈥淕reen Room鈥) in the basement
of the Theatre Department on 性欲社鈥檚 campus. Callbacks (if necessary) are Sunday, January
22nd at 2:00pm. Auditions will not involve monologs 鈥 rather actors will read short
scenes (AKA 鈥渟ides鈥) from the play.
Community members are encouraged to audition.

Theatre 性欲社 seeks to provide exemplary training in the Dramatic Arts, to contribute
substantially and creatively to the advancement of the discipline of the Dramatic
Arts, and to foster the vibrant cultural enhancement of the University community,
Fairbanks, and the surrounding area. We aim to serve several overlapping constituencies
