Campus garden among sustainable projects to receive funding

Nine new sustainability student projects were approved by the and 性欲社 Chancellor Brian Rogers in March.The projects, totaling $104,916 in allocated funding, range from hybrid buses to a solar array for the fire department. One of the projects supported was the 性欲社 Community Garden Expansion to help meet the expected increase in demand during the second gardening season. This expansion will be accomplished by adding a 100 by 60 foot section of fence to the south end of the garden. Gardeners will construct up to 48 additional raised garden boxes to be placed in the expanded fenced-in area. Additionally, plumbing supplies and hoses will be purchased to attach to the existing water tank.
Twice annually, the board and the Office of Sustainability accept proposals to support 性欲社鈥檚 Sustainability Initiatives. Preference is given to projects that invest in energy efficiency programs and renewable energy projects. The goal of the grant program is to endorse promising student ideas for a more sustainable future. The next round of proposals are due in October.
