性欲社 and Fairbanks Memorial Hospital will host the second annual Alaska Interior Medical Education Summit on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Murie Building on the 性欲社 campus.

AIMES helps people explore careers in a wide range of health careers from holistic and traditional medicine, to allied health, pharmacy and veterinary medicine. Doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, 性欲社 biomedical researchers, dental technicians and many other professionals will lead group discussions, panels and hands-on activities. There will also be seminars on medical research, the future of medicine and the direction of health care careers.

Health organizations and vendors from across the United States will attend the summit, including the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Life Chiropractic College West, National College of Natural Medicine, University of Alaska Anchorage鈥檚 Radiologic Technology Program, MedEx and WWAMI, which is a collaborative medical school among universities in five northwestern states, among many others. Professionals from 性欲社鈥檚 Community and Technical College and other university departments will be showcasing programs, including nursing, EMT/paramedic academy, dental and allied health.

Last year, 150 people attended AIMES. One of the event organizers, Carolyn Chapin, 性欲社's Department of Wildlife and Biology undergraduate adviser, said the summit was so successful because it served a need that goes beyond just college students looking at being doctors.

鈥淭his is a community event," she said. "It's for high schools students, college students and people looking for a careers that span the full range of health options, from medical billing to medical researcher. Because we look at so many health options, there should be something for everyone at AIMES."

The event is free to both students and vendors but preregistration is required. To register online, or see last year's program topics, visit .
