Extension offers strength and balance class

Fairbanks Cooperative Extension agent Leslie Shallcross will lead a free StrongWomen class by distance delivery, beginning May 4.

The five-week class will meet by Zoom Mondays and Wednesdays at 3 p.m. through June 3. Developed by Tufts University, the StrongWomen training seeks to improve mobility, strength and bone density, and decrease falls, especially for mid-life and older individuals.

The class is designed for women of all skill levels. Participants will use their own hand weights and leg weights. Preregistration is required at to receive the Zoom link.
