Michael McEleney, senior policy advisor in the , traveled to Fairbanks in mid-November to attend the hosted by the Arctic Domain Awareness Center.

The symposium convened a wide array of leaders and experts to build partnerships in support of Arctic mission. They hope to better understand challenges in the complicated risk environment that is the new circumpolar North.

While in town, McEleney visited offices of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power and the . He sought to learn more about ACEP's research initiatives and the . The academy is an international knowledge-sharing program endorsed by the Arctic Council鈥檚 Sustainable Development Working Group. ARENA will solicit 2020 applicants soon. Information will be shared in Cornerstone and online.
