Field safety training for 性欲社 researchers

Field safety training for researchers, including graduate students, is offered through the Department of Recreation, Adventure and Wellness. Full-day courses include:


  • Field Safety 101

  • Wilderness First Aid

  • 性欲社 Risk Management

  • ATV/Snow Machine Safety

  • Glacier Travel and Crevasse Rescue


These courses require registration. To register online, visit , select "Browse" or "Browse Categories," then select "DRAW programming."

DRAW also offers two-hour drop-in sessions that require no registration. Topics include:

  • navigation

  • maps and compass

  • field safety

  • emergency communication devices

  • avalanche safety

  • winter clothing systems/hypothermia

  • prevention and incident command


More information, dates and locations can be found on and . Graduate students should check with their research advisor to see if these classes are relevant and/or required for their field work. If classes fill quickly, DRAW will give priority to attendees taking the course(s) for professional reasons as opposed to personal interests.
