Health trainings scheduled in Anchorage

性欲社 Cooperative Extension Service will lead three trainings in Anchorage for individuals or organizations that want to offer research-based community health education.

Lifestyle coach training for the National Diabetes Prevention Program will be offered in Anchorage Jan. 29-30. The training is for individuals or organizations that want to offer a face-to-face, group diabetes prevention program developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Fairbanks Extension agent Leslie Shallcross, a registered dietitian and master trainer for the program, will lead the training from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center, 4951 Business Boulevard.

Shallcross will also lead a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program Leader Course Feb. 11-14. The Stanford University-developed training prepares individuals to teach the six-week Chronic Disease Self-Management Program in a clinical or community setting. Additional training will follow on Feb. 15 with the Diabetes Self-Management Program Leader cross-training. Online registration for all three programs is available at .
