Lecture to examine influence of big money on U.S. politics

Author and constitutional lawyer Jeff Clements will discuss the growing influence of concentrated wealth in U.S. elections and government at a free lecture on Monday, March 25.

The event, part of a two-week speaking tour with stops in Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks, will begin at 6 p.m. at Schaible Auditorium at 性欲社. Clements will answer questions at 7 p.m. The free lecture is sponsored by the 性欲社 Political Science Department.

Clements is the president of American Promise, an organization that advocates for a national, cross-partisan movement 鈥渢o address out-of-control spending in U.S. elections and secure the equal rights of Americans to effective representation and participation in self-government.鈥 American Promise is seeking an amendment to the Constitution to limit the influence of big money on politics.
