Lt. Dan Choi, a combat veteran and activist for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights, will speak March 11 at 2 p.m. in the Wood Center Ballroom.

Choi is a former infantry officer in the U.S. Army. He served in Iraq in 2006 and 2007. He became an LGBT rights activist following his coming out on The Rachel Maddow Show in March 2009. He publicly challenged the U.S. military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy toward LGBT service members.

This event is free and will have limited seating. Advance tickets can be picked up at the Wood Center front desk. To reserve tickets for a class or department, contact Cody Rogers in the Student Activities Office, cbrogers@alaska.edu.

This event is co-sponsored with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, 性欲社 Women's Center, the 性欲社 Gender and Sexuality Alliance and the 性欲社 Leadership, Involvement and Volunteer Experience program.
