Brief speeches, a re-enactment and a birthday cake on May 3 will mark the 100th anniversary of 性欲社's creation.

Everyone is invited to the ceremony, which will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. in Centennial Square, between Wickersham Hall and the Gruening Building.

In April 1917, the Alaska Territorial Legislature passed a bill to create the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines. On May 3, 1917, Territorial Gov. John Strong signed the bill.

On May 3, 2017, 性欲社 will re-enact that signing. Chancellor Dana Thomas, 性欲社 history Professor Terrence Cole, 性欲社 Alumni Association Vice President Peter Van Flein and others will reflect on the moment's significance.
