Museum event to celebrate birds, Kessel's legacy

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is hosting a Celebration of Birds on Thursday, May 17, from 4-6 p.m. The free public event will celebrate the museum鈥檚 collections.

Visitors can learn about the legacy of Brina Kessel, who bequeathed more than $7 million to the museum鈥檚 ornithology collection. Kessel was the curator of the bird collection as well as a longtime professor, dean and researcher at 性欲社.

There will be birds and other specimens on display. Visitors can meet curators and explore the museum鈥檚 exhibits and galleries.
