Museum ethnology curator applicants to give presentations

Two additional finalists for the joint position of curator of ethnology at the University of Alaska Museum of the North and assistant professor in 性欲社's anthropology department will present seminars this month. The presentations are free and open to the public.
Amy Phillips-Chan will present "I帽upiaq Narratives Reanimate Objects of Cultural Heritage and Identity: A Community-Based Approach to Knowledge Production" on Friday, April 11.
Katrin Simon-Sakurai will address "Noise and the Thickening Earth: The Power of Stories in an Alaskan Yup'ik Community" on Wednesday, April 23.
Both will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Bunnell Building, Room 302.
A third finalist, Megan Smetzer, presented 鈥淐o-opting the Cooperative: Tlingit Women's Beadwork at Mid-Century鈥 on Monday, April 7.
