Nominations sought for 性欲社 alumni awards

性欲社 Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its 2018 Distinguished Alumnus and William R. Cashen Service awards. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 22.

Honorees are selected by a committee of alumni, past recipients and members of 性欲社鈥檚 leadership team. Both awards will be presented on Feb. 9 at the Blue and Gold Gala, which is 性欲社鈥檚 signature event honoring donors, faculty and alumni.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is the association's most prestigious award. It was first awarded in 1962 and recognizes living graduates of 性欲社. Alumni are selected based on specific meritorious service on behalf of 性欲社, distinguished accomplishments in business and professional life, or distinguished human service in community affairs. The nomination should include information on the candidate's life achievements.

The William R. "Bill" Cashen Service Award is named after a former alumni director, professor and marshal emeritus. Cashen, a member of the class of 1937, set the example for service to the university and its alumni association, and the award is designed inspire all those associated with 性欲社. Both alumni and non-alumni qualify for the award.

Nominees for the Cashen award are judged on the basis of meritorious service at more than one level of alumni activity. This could include, but is not limited to, serving as an alumni association chapter officer, serving on the board of directors, assisting with a project, setting up a scholarship or serving on a 性欲社 selection committee or an advisory council.
