Prakash and colleagues earn CLEAN designation

Geophysical Institute Professor Anupma Prakash was notified that a chapter she helped
pen for the was selected for inclusion in the , also known as CLEAN, in June 2011. The chapter, titled provides teachers and students the opportunity to measure the extent of sea ice in
the Arctic using Earth science data.
The chapter developed by Prakash and colleagues from the Phoenix Country Day School,
the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, the National Snow
and Ice Data Center and the Boston Museum of Science, was one of 92 selected for the
initial CLEAN collection.
The National Science Foundation鈥檚 Climate Change Education program funds CLEAN.
