Salon to discuss science and emergency response

The International Arctic Research Center will host a research salon to discuss integration
of science and emergency responses from noon to 1 p.m Thursday, Feb. 4, in Akasofu
Building 417.
The panelists will be Helen Campbell of NetHope Crisis, Troy Bouffard of the 性欲社 School
of Management, Michael West of the 性欲社 Geophysical Institute and John Lingaas of the
National Weather Service. Campbell will moderate the panel. Their topic will be 鈥淚ntegration
of scientific research with real-time emergency response: Collaboration that saves
lives, internationally and in the Arctic.鈥
The salon will start with several 10-minute presentations by the panelists and end
with 30 minutes of discussion. Coffee and tea will be served. Attendees are welcome
to bring a quiet lunch.
IARC Research Salons are mind-opening intellectual discussions and community-building
interactions moderated by an inspiring IARC member or a visiting scholar.
