Responsible Conduct of Research training March 2

Responsible Conduct of Research training will be offered Saturday, March 2, from 9
a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Akasofu 501. The event is sponsored by the 性欲社 .
The RCR training covers core norms, principles, regulations and rules governing the
practice of research. RCR is a highly recommended 鈥渂est practices鈥 course for those
desiring to deepen their knowledge of ethical research and responsible conduct. It
is also an excellent professional opportunity for anyone interested in furthering
a career in research. This particular workshop fulfills the National Science Foundation
and National Institutes of Health requirements for formal RCR instruction.
It is an NIH requirement that all BLaST GMRAs, Scholars, UREs and other funded projects participate in RCR training.
This is the only formal RCR training at 性欲社 this semester.
The in-person RCR training is open to all 性欲社-, UAS- and Ilisagvik-affiliated individuals
(faculty, graduate students, staff and undergraduates).
The training is six hours, with several discussions based on case studies that examine
the basic ethical and regulatory requirements for conducting research. Please plan
to attend for the full time. Lunch is provided for all participants.
Modules covered include:
- Stakeholders and Society
- Research Negligence and Misconduct
- Treatment of Data, Scientific Record Keeping
- Authorship, Credit and Intellectual Property
- Sharing of Research Results
- Mentoring
- Human and Animal Subjects (IRB and IACUC)
- Conflicting Interests and Values
- Violations of Professional Standards
Requirements: Registration will close by Monday, Feb. 25 or sooner if the workshop fills. Space is limited to 30 participants. Register at .
Participants must attend all modules, participate in workshop discussions and complete the online CITI training. A certificate of completion will be issued upon successful completion.
