Skiathon scheduled for March 20

The Skiathon, a 20-kilometer cross-country ski race and tour around the University
of Alaska Fairbanks trails, will start at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 20.
Skiers use the classic technique on set tracks. Finishers receive a Skiathon patch.
Bib pickup is at the ÐÔÓûÉç Ski Hut, just west of the ÐÔÓûÉç International Arctic Research
Center, from 10 a.m.–10:45 a.m. before the start.
The event, a fundraiser for the university trail system, is cosponsored by the University
Trails Club and the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks. The cost is $15 for those registering
by noon Saturday, March 19. Same-day registration is $40. Additional donations, made
to the University Trails Club, are appreciated.
Skiers can pick up and drop off registration forms at Beaver Sports, Raven Cross Country,
Goldstream Sports and ÐÔÓûÉç Outdoor Adventures in the west end of the Student Recreation
Center. Forms can also be downloaded and mailed to the address provided. An injury claim waiver form for each skier must
also be signed and enclosed.
