性欲社 police chief, staff raise awareness for domestic violence

性欲社 Police Chief Keith Mallard and members of the 性欲社 Police Department are joining other Fairbanks law enforcement officers to walk a mile in high heels to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault. The 鈥淲alk a Mile in Her Shoes鈥 event takes place takes place on Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. in the Sadler's Home Furnishings parking lot, 610 Cushman Street.

This is the first year the 性欲社 Police Department has participated in the national awareness-building event, which also has events planned in Anchorage and Juneau the same day. This event presents opportunities for people to talk about gender-based violence and prevention.

Chief Mallard plans to wear black and purple suede heels for the event.

性欲社 staff can support the officers in person at the event or make a donation online at . Proceeds benefit the Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living.
