University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting nearly
50 free lectures, concerts and other events this summer. Here is what鈥檚 happening
during the week ahead:
- On Monday, June 5, the 2017 性欲社 Legacy Lecture will feature An Evening with Karen Parr. A 1966 graduate of the University of Alaska, Parr served as a longtime teacher, three-term member of the Fairbanks North Star Borough assembly and as the driving force behind Raven Landing, a residence and community center for Fairbanks seniors. The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
- On Tuesday, June 6, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature dermatologist Dr. Brooke Walls discussing 鈥淪kin cancer: The complete story.鈥 The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
- On Wednesday, June 7, the Discover Alaska lecture series will present John Monahan, director of 性欲社 Upward Bound, on 鈥淭he modern blanket toss.鈥 The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
- On Thursday, June 8, the Music in the Garden concert series will host O Tallulah. This family trio of local singer-songwriters performs classic country, folk and gospel. Music begins at 7 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
