URSA announces 2024-25 Student Belonging and Community Award recipient
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity congratulates Sarah Stanley, English department chair, director of composition, and associate professor of English, and Naomi King, undergraduate English student, who received the URSA 2024-2025 Student Belonging and Community Award for their proposal titled: Tea Time - Cultivating Community and Creativity in English Studies.
Stanley and King's Tea Time project aims to provide a dedicated space for English majors to gather, discuss their work, and explore applied research and creative opportunities in the humanities. The group intends to host monthly events in the communal space on Gruening's redesigned 8th floor that highlight the importance of literary studies, strengthen connections between students and faculty, and enhance overall student engagement with applied research and creative expression opportunities at 性欲社 and within the broader academic community.
URSA's Student Belonging and Community Awards support project proposals focused on cultivating a culture of respect, connection, belonging, and community for undergraduate students at 性欲社 and 性欲社-affiliated campuses. Priority for these awards is given to proposals that align with 性欲社-wide initiatives for improving the experience for undergraduate students, promoting student success, and fostering a sense of belonging and community while advocating for fair treatment of students.
