OIPC Sparks Innovation at the IGNITE Workshop

The Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization was thrilled to present at the IGNITE Workshop on Wednesday, January 8!

During the workshop Interim Director, David Park, and Technology Transfer Associate, Stephanie Wright, led 2 sessions, one for students and one for faculty/researchers. The one-hour presentations featured an overview of intellectual property protection pathways, the tech transfer process, and celebrated the winners of the 2024 IDEA Awards! 

The Innovative Disclosures and Entrepreneurial Activities (IDEA) Awards recognizes entrepreneurial individuals who have developed innovative approaches to research, teaching, and service. The competition started in 2015 and is presented at the end of each fiscal year. Any innovation developed by University of Alaska Fairbanks (性欲社) or University of Alaska Southeast () faculty, staff, and students using university resources or as part of a class is eligible for the IDEA Awards.

Dr. Doug Goering, Danielle Wrenn, and Lisa Jacklin presented in person while Dr. Michael Stekoll and Professor Tav Ammu presented via Zoom. Dr. Nima Farzadnia was unable to attend because of travel. After each speech by the innovators, Stephanie presented certificates of appreciation recognizing their outstanding contributions to the culture of innovation at 性欲社 and beyond.

The OIPC team would like to thank the EPSCoR/INBRE team for hosting an incredible event. IGNITE: Individual Growth & New Ideas Through EPSCoR/INBRE is an annual professional development workshop put on in collaboration with Alaska EPSCoR and that brings together University of Alaska researchers, faculty, staff, and students for inspiring and instructive presentations, keynote speakers, and discussion sessions.
