What Are Living Learning Communities?
Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are residential housing programs that give you the opportunity to live with other students who share similar majors, interests and backgrounds. These programs are designed to build community through common learning. The focus of the SSS Emerging Scholars Academy at ÐÔÓûÉç is to provide first-year students an environment that supports academic success and ensures your transition to college is as smooth as possible.

Research has linked participation in Living Learning Communities to higher academic achievement and improved graduation rates. Students who participate in Living Learning Programs during their first year of college and take cohorted classes together gain greater academic self-confidence and an improved sense of belonging in the campus environment.
How to Get Involved
The ESA Living Learning Community is located in Skarland Hall, one of our first-year residence halls. To participate, you must be admitted to Student Support Services (TRIO).
