You're a big deal

UA Scholars are a big deal. They're Alaskans in the top 10% of their high school class, meaning they're some of the top-performing students in the state. Over 500 UA Scholars currently attend ÐÔÓûÉç, and they're some of the most promising Nanooks. They will go on to make big things happen — for their communities, Alaska and the world. ÐÔÓûÉç is the launching point.

$15,000 Scholarship

The main benefit of being a UA Scholar is the scholarship award itself. The UA Scholars Award is a $15,000 scholarship that's distributed over the course of eight semesters. You can use your UA Scholars Award to pay for tuition, housing, a meal plan, textbooks or anything else you'll need funding for at school, like a study away program or research equipment.

This scholarship can be used in conjunction with other types of scholarships and financial aid like the Nanook Pledge Scholarship and the Alaska Performance Scholarship. Some UA Scholars earn more than $46,000 to pay for their ÐÔÓûÉç education and expenses.

UA Scholars must be full-time (12 or more credits) to receive disbursement each semester. Students must also meet continuing eligibility criteria, reviewed after every 2 semesters of use. This scholarship can be deferred for up to 2 years.
