Caleb Herron

Caleb Herron is a percussionist and educator from Atlanta, Georgia. He holds a Master's degree from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and a Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University, His principal teachers have been Dr. Morris Palter and Dr. Stuart Gerber.

Caleb performs with the Johns Creek Symphony and is Principal Timpanist for the Lagrange Symphony Orchestra. On call with many touring musicians, he has played with bands and acts such as Il Divo, Lindsey Sterling, Evanescence, and Mark Wood. Caleb enjoys playing musicals and has been a part of many local theater pits in Atlanta.

An active chamber musician, Caleb founded the contemporary chamber music group, Chamber Cartel. This ensemble performs New Music written by some of today's most inspiring composers. The Cartel has commissioned more than twenty new works from composers Carolyn Chen, Marc Yeats, Christopher Adler, Drew Baker, Anthony Donofrio, and many more since its founding in 2012.

Caleb believes that passing on one's knowledge to younger generations is crucial for the growth of this amazing art form. He currently teaches at Georgia State University Perimeter College, and Morehouse College. In addition to these positions, he teaches at several Atlanta-area middle and high schools giving masterclasses and clinic on all percussion instruments from drum set to concert and marching percussion.
